Millie Bourgeois Quartararo, 84, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted wife and was married to the love of her life for 58 years.
Millie spent her entire life caring for others and found her greatest happiness in raising her children and spending quality time with her grandchildren. She was proud of each and every one of them. Her family was her pride and joy. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, “Grammy”, aunt, sister, and friend to all. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and is especially remembered for her unwavering faith in God, and her devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. She graduated from Lutcher High School and the Foster School of Business. She worked as an administrative assistant for the Baton Rouge Police Department.
Millie is survived by her son, Craig Quartararo; daughters, Karen Frugé (Farrell), Gina Magri (Daniel), and Lori Medica (Michael); grandchildren, Destin Marler, Trey Frugé (Tori), Erica Frugé Devillier (Austin), Camille Frugé, John Magri (Lindsey), Rebecca Magri, Mikaela Medica, and Brandon Medica; great-grandchildren, Cecilia Frugé, Kannyn Magri, and Nolan Magri; sister, Geraldine Vonder Harr; and brother, Richard Bourgeois.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Quartararo; parents, Victor Bourgeois and Leonia Louque Bourgeois; sister, Jeanette King; and brother, Leonard Norman Bourgeois.
Visitation will take place at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11441 Goodwood Blvd., on Monday, January 6, 2025, beginning at 9:00 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, officiated by Father Eddie Martin. Burial to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
Pallbearers will include Paul Vonder Haar, Chris Vonder Haar, Destin Marler, Trey Frugé, Austin Devillier, John Margi, and Brandon Medica.
Special thanks goes to the doctors and nurses at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital for their compassionate care. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
