Emblem

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, Noah Pierre Rizan, Jr., who peacefully departed this life while surrounded by his family on April 1, 2024. Noah Pierre Rizan, Jr., born on December 1, 1929, in New Orleans, LA, was a man of profound character and unwavering dedication.

Noah graduated from Catholic High School in Baton Rouge, LA, and later served his country in the Army division as Sergeant for 4 years, stationed in Japan between 1949 and 1952. Following his military service, Noah embarked on a distinguished career with the Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development, where he devoted over 30 years of service, retiring in 1986.  He was an active member of the American Legion and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.  His contributions extended beyond formal organizations as he served multiple terms on the West Baton Rouge Zoning Commission, shaping and developing his community.  He found purpose in giving back to his community, volunteering at Redemptorist High School and St. Pius Catholic Church, cherishing his early retirement years with fulfillment and joy.

Family was the cornerstone of Noah’s life, and nothing brought him greater happiness than being surrounded by his loved ones.

He is survived by his loving wife, Thelma Aurelie Martinez Rizan, and their five children; Noah Pierre Rizan, III and wife, Nancy Pardue Rizan, Karen Gwen Rizan Parker and husband, Kent Parker, Aimee Renee Rizan English and Brian Baily, Michelle Marie Rizan Williamson and husband, Baron Williamson, and Michel Ernest Rizan and wife, Brenna Carney Rizan. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, who were a constant source of pride and joy for him.

Noah was preceded in death by his parents; Noah Pierre Rizan, Sr. and Isabelle Stella Levert Rizan, as well as his siblings; Raymond Noah Rizan, Joseph Doda “JD” Rizan, Stella Mae Rizan Baylis, and Gloria Marie Rizan Hunt.

A visitation and Mass in honor of Noah's life will be conducted at Holy Family Catholic Church in Port Allen, LA, on April 10, 2024.  Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation, which will take place from 8:30am to 10:30am.  Following the visitation, a Catholic Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am as a moment of reflection and spiritual comfort for all.  Following the Mass, burial services will be promptly held at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home on Jefferson Highway, where he will be laid to rest beside his parents.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to all relatives, friends, and caregivers who provided assistance and comfort during this difficult time.  May Noah’s memory live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
