Rick Pastor

Rick Pastor passed away from cancer on Thursday, June 13, 2024, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at the age of 80. He was born on March 18, 1944, in Tela, Honduras to Angel Ricardo Pastor and Angela Maria Hernandez Pastor. He attended St. Stanislaus High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University. Rick had a long and successful career as an electrical engineer with General Electric (GE) Supply Company with over 40 years of dedicated service.

Rick is preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Tavo Pastor and Chito Pastor. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Mari Molina Pastor; his daughters Kim Baut and her husband, Robert, and Laura Pastor; stepchildren Tarsy, Tony, and Shanyn Spetsiotakis; grandchildren Christopher Baut and his wife, Jaycee, and Evan Baut and his wife, Emily; several great-grandchildren; his siblings, Vilma Anding, Maria Luisa Pastor, and Angel Pastor and his wife Nydia; as well as numerous other family and friends.

Rick had three loves – his family, golf, and the beach! Once retired, he was able to indulge in his favorite pastime playing golf up to five days a week, and also traveled often with family and friends, with the most memorable trips being in Cabo San Lucas. He was an avid LSU fan, never missing an event, regardless of the sport.

Rick loved life and relished every opportunity to celebrate and almost always was the last man standing at any party. We will always remember his gentle smile and laugh and the way he lit up a room.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge. A Memorial Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to The Hospice of Baton Rouge.
