Baton Rouge, LA - Oscar "Bob" Porter Jr., loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the age of 81. Bob was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on August 3, 1944. Bob was a "Harley enthusiast", working at Harley Davidson of Baton Rouge until his retirement, where his passion and knowledge of motorcycles earned him many friendships. In his free time, he enjoyed working out, motorcycle riding, and billiards. Above all, Bob cherished time spent with his family and friends. He treasured making those around him laugh, always having a quick joke on hand. Bob is preceded in death by the mother of his sons, Myrtle Grasso Porter; his parents, Oscar R. Porter, Sr., and Eulalia Cambre Porter; daughter, Jaime Nicole Porter; sister, Robbie Porter Russell; and nephew, David Lee. He is survived by his sons, Joey Porter (Rena' Cannon Porter), and Jeff Porter; grandchildren, Grant Porter, Jordan Porter, and Paige Porter; great-grandson, Brooks Vaughn; nephew, Bo Lee; and nieces, Marla Lee and Sherry Evans. The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to Mrs. Harriet Noel, for taking such great care and love for Bob while he was home, as well as the staff at Landmark Nursing Home of Baton Rouge, for their care in Bobs final days.
The family would like to invite all who knew and loved Bob to join them as we commemorate his life. A visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., in Baton Rouge on Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 11:00 AM until the Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM.
