Patricia Burns “Pat” Kennedy passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Pat lived a life defined by warmth, devotion, and unwavering commitment to those she loved. She was born in Baton Rouge on December 4, 1940, and graduated from Istrouma High School in 1958. In August 1959, Pat married Willie Huey Kennedy, beginning a partnership that would span more than six decades. Together, they built a life rich in love and a shared purpose as they raised their family. Pat loved to travel, but her favorite times were those spent with her family.

Pat is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Willie Huey Kennedy; her daughters, Sharon Kennedy Ball and Susan Kennedy McVicker (Kevin); her grandsons, Kelly Joseph Ball (Lacey) and Corey Daniel Ball (Sally); and her brother John Joseph Burns, Jr. (Dinny). She is also survived by her great grandsons, Mason James Ball, Hudson Paul Ball, Gavin Patrick Trammell, and Luke Bradley Ball; her cousin, Derinda Saucier; and her dear friends, Gretchen McKell and the Instrouma Lunch Lady Group. Pat is preceded in death by her parents, John Joseph Burns, Sr. and Zita Stokes Burns.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, LA 70816, on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m.
