Peter Vries

A mortgage broker and a resident and native of Baton Rouge, he died on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, at his home. He was 44 and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home on Friday, Feb. 27, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Religious service at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. He is survived by his mother, Marian A. Parker de Vries, Baton Rouge; a daughter, Madeline de Vries, Baton Rouge; a son, Parker de Vries, Baton Rouge; two sisters, Susan Sheets and husband Bill, Arlington, Texas, and Maureen Trim and husband Mark, Alvin, Texas; a brother, Maurice de Vries III and wife Carrie, Frisco, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Maurice de Vries Jr. He was a 1989 graduate of LSU and a past president of Kiwanis.
