Philip Scardina

August 14, 1944 — February 15, 2022

For the Lord is good; His steadfast love endures forever, and His faithfulness to all generations. Psalm 100:5.

Philip Charles Scardina, beloved father, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend was welcomed into God’s glory on February 15, 2022. Philip was born on August 14, 1944 to the late Vic and Annie Scardina. A longtime resident of Baton Rouge, Philip graduated from Redemptorist High School and went on to study at Louisiana State University in which he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and entered Insurance and underwriting industry.

In addition to being a loving husband, proud father and grandfather, and Godly businessman, Philip enjoyed Lsu football, spending time with his family, and studying God’s word. He will be remembered for his wisdom, generosity, and love of the Lord. Through his love of teaching the Word of God in church and home Bible studies, he enjoyed seeing people grow in the Lord. He taught and believed in the power of prayer, spiritual principles found in the Word of God, and the importance of living a life of integrity and strong character.

Philip is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carol Ann Scardina; two children and their spouses, son, Phillip C. and Marguerite W. Scardina, and daughter, Stacey S. and David J. Wall; five grandchildren, Phillip Charles Scardina II, Bradlee N. Wall, Alexandra M. Scardina, Adam M. Wall, and Annelise I. Scardina; two nephews, Chris Helouin and Dr. Thomas “Kit” Kiebach; three nieces, Cherie Clark, Lisa Bordelon, and Terry Parish; sister and brother-in-law Betty and Bob Stott of Baton Rouge. He was preceded in death by his father, Vic Scardina, mother, Annie Accardo Scardina, brother, Jack Scardina, and sister Ann Helouin.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service held in his honor at the Resthaven Garden of Memories and Funeral home located on 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70816 on Monday, February 21, 2022. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. followed immediately by the Celebration Service.
