Pierre J. "Pete" Landry

Pierre Joseph “Pete” Landry, a resident of Greenwell Springs, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025, in Holts Summit, Missouri. He was 66 years old. Pete was born June 6, 1959, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Ronald Joseph Landry and Mary Ann LeBlanc Landry. He was a 1978 graduate of Tara High School. He began working with Uniform Rental Services when he was just 27, this was the beginning of a long and successful career that culminated with his current position as a service installation specialist with Cintas Corporation. His knowledgeable and friendly demeanor had many of his accounts turn into lifelong friends. Of all the routes he had, there was one that stood out more than any other, Lafayette’s, as it introduced him to the love of his life, Judy Evelyn Sanders. Always the avid storyteller, he would tell family and friends that from the moment she met him she wanted to marry him, and while that MAY be true, Pete was smitten at first sight!

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Deborah Barker.

Pete is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Judy Landry; his beloved children, Bryan Christopher Landry of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Rachel Elizabeth Landry and her wife Leigh-Anne of Bossier City, Louisiana; his brother Michael Landry and his wife Sheliah; and his nephew Justin Landry; as well as numerous other family and countless friends.

His passion was woodworking, what started off as a hobby became a lifelong project, including making flag cases for fallen veterans, firefighters and police. He also enjoyed his time as a drummer with the Baton Rouge Pipes and Drums Corps, donating his time to give lessons to anyone interested in music. He and Judy were devout Christians and members of Zoar Baptist Church.

To know Pete was to know a humble man, always happy, who left an indelible impression on everyone he met. He had a quiet strength with a steady presence. Pete had an unwavering sense of humor and never missed an opportunity to make others laugh – or himself. He would help anyone in need. Although he loved to tinker with things, he was often known for being able to break more than he could fix! He was all these things and more to his friends and colleagues, but to his family he was the husband, father and brother that always made them feel loved and safe.

Pete had more than a sweet tooth, he had a full set of sweet teeth! Never one to miss a pecan pie or other dessert, he would always say “you know what that tastes like…it tastes like MORE!” To that we say, “we love you, we loved you, we will always wish we had more.”

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge A Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, and beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. Interment, with a final bagpipe farewell, will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
