Ralph Jude Amar

Ralph Jude Amar, a retired employee of Dow Chemical and the East Baton Rouge Parish Library System, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at the age of 91. A lifelong resident and native of Baton Rouge, he will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his work, and his community.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Alice Beverly Amar; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Andrea Nadine Amar of Baton Rouge, Karen Amar Threlkeld and her husband, Malcolm Threlkeld Jr., of Birmingham, Alabama, and Michelle Amar Duplantis and her husband, Jeff Duplantis, of Denham Springs; one son, David Randolph Amar and his wife, Renee Amar, of Baton Rouge; four grandchildren, Brandon Christopher Goody, Matthew Joseph Amar, Jourdan Elizabeth Amar, and Sophia BellaGrace Duplantis; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice Amar; his parents, Zachary and Bertha Amar; three brothers; and one sister.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, located at 15615 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, La. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM with a rosary at 11:45 AM. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park, located at 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, La.
