Ram Nath Bhatia

Ram Nath Bhatia passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at the age of 83. He was born on September 18, 1942, in Bannu, India, to Remal Das and Lachmi Devi Bhatia.

Ram graduated from The University of Florida with a master’s in chemical engineering and went on to work for ExxonMobil as a chemical engineer. Outside of work, Ram enjoyed stamp and coin collecting and was the President of the Baton Rouge Stamp Club.

Ram is preceded in death by his first wife of 25 years, Judith Helen Zabel Bhatia; his parents, Remal Das Bhatia and Lachmi Devi Bhatia; and brothers, Amar Bhatia, Suraj Bhatia, and Prem Bhatia.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Charleen Ann White Bhatia; children, Jennifer Bhatia Ledbetter (Jason), Jonathan Bhatia, and Randy Bhatia (Lindsay); siblings, Shakun Jolly (Jatinder), and Om Bhatia (Shaila); grandchildren, Taylor Ledbetter, Madison Ledbetter, Alex Bhatia, Emily Bhatia, Maryam Bhatia, Ruby Grace Bhatia, and Julia Bhatia; and step-sons, Justus White and Riley White.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
