Raymond “Woody” Banker, Sr., a native of Baton Rouge, LA and a resident of Prairieville, LA, passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the age of 83.
He worked in construction, where he was owner and manager of Graphite Repairs. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and most importantly his wife.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Banker and Arena E. Banker; brother, Kirby Cruse; and sister, Patsy Hoffman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Inez Rivault Banker; sons, Ray W. Banker, Jr. and wife Tammy, Rick W. Banker and wife Tammy, Ron W. Banker and wife Heather; grandchildren, Kendall Ingram and husband Andrew, Cody Banker and wife Taylor, Austin Banker and wife Maddie, Whitney Verret and husband Dylan, Justin Banker, Katelyn Craven and husband John, Blake Banker, Lane Banker, Andrea Falcon and husband Chad, and Kevin Cahill and wife Katelyn; great grandchildren, Kirra, Andi and Keegan Ingram, Charley Verret, Amelia Banker, Marissa and Raegan Falcon, Lylah, Avah, and Savannah Cahill. Mary Feigle and husband Rick, Jesse Hux and husband Joe; along with many nieces and nephews and special cousin, Byrne Dean Hoffman.
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, LA 70816, on Monday, April 6, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Deacon Randy Clement. Pallbearers will be Cody Banker, Justin Banker, Blake Banker, Austin Banker, Lane Banker, Andrew Ingram, Dylan Verret, and John Craven. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul D’agostino and Jeff Adams. A reception will take place at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Activity Center, 15208 LA-73 in Prairieville.
Special thanks to Dr. Richard Lieux. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
