Raymond "Dean" Freiberger

Raymond Dean Freiberger, 78, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. Born on February 2, 1948, to Raymond George and Freida Freiberger, Dean lived a life marked by kindness, faithfulness, and a genuine love for people.

Dean proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1969 to 1972. Following his military service, he married the love of his life, Carolyn Taylor Freiberger, on August 19, 1972. Together they shared nearly 54 years of marriage, building a home centered on love, faith, and family.

Dean was preceded in death by his beloved son, Edward Dean Freiberger, who passed away on January 14, 2026.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Carolyn Freiberger; his son, Michael Keith Freiberger; his daughter-in-law, Nichole Freiberger; his grandchildren, Kalyee Bui (Anthony), Edward Dean Freiberger, Jr., Nicholas Dean Freiberger, and Bailey Parke; and his great-grandson, Elliot Bui. He also leaves behind many extended family members, dear friends, and a church family who will deeply miss his warm smile and gracious spirit.

Dean was known as a kind, gentle, and gracious man who never met a stranger. He had a servant’s heart and found great joy in serving the Lord through his church. For many years, he faithfully welcomed worshipers each Sunday morning, greeting them with a worship guide, a warm smile, a hug, and words of encouragement. He also delighted in helping young men learn and recite their Bible verses through AWANA, investing in the next generation with patience, kindness, and genuine love. His quiet faithfulness and Christlike hospitality left a lasting impression on countless lives.

Dean’s life reflected the words of Jesus: “Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:23). Those who knew him will remember a man whose life pointed people to the love and kindness of Christ.

While his family and friends grieve his absence, they do so with the hope found in the promises of Scripture: “For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.” (1 Thessalonians 4:14). Because of Dean’s faith in Christ, his family rejoices in the assurance that this farewell is only temporary and that they will one day be reunited with him in the presence of the Lord.

A celebration of Dean’s life will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Baptist Church. Visitation will precede the service from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church. Family and friends are invited to gather to remember a man who loved his family, the Lord, loved His church, and faithfully served others with humility, kindness, and joy.
