Raymond Theodore "Ray" Huxen, Sr.

Raymond Huxen passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026, in Sweetwater, Tennessee at the age of 82. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to Raymond Junius Huxen and Catherine Lucille Case Huxen. Ray proudly served our country in the United States Navy. After being honorably discharged, he attended Loyola University, where he received his master’s degree in education. Ray’s impact as an educator to students in Louisiana spanned more than 20 years, culminating as a teacher at Holy Cross High School. After retiring, he found his new passion in life as an entrepreneur.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his former wife, Kathleen Pepper Huxen; and his long-time companion, Diane Nye.

Ray is survived by his devoted sons, Raymond Huxen Jr. and wife Beth Goldstein Huxen, and Ronald Huxen and wife Ann; his wife of five years, Ann Chevelier Huxen, who rarely missed a day visiting him; and his beloved grandchildren Kiva Goldstein Huxen, Kayla Huxen, Parker Evans and Perri Evans. He is also survived by daughters in his thoughts, Tracy Evans and Kelly Brewster; as well as numerous other loving family and friends.

He enjoyed traveling, investing, playing basketball and LSU athletics, but above all this he cherished his time as a grandparent.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge. A Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
