Richard Ray

July 8, 1967 — March 2, 2021

Attorney and loving father, Richard Randall Ray of Baton Rouge, Louisiana died on the evening of March 2, 2021 at the age of 53. Richard, also known by many friends and family as Randy or Ray, adored his three children. He is survived by one son, Richard "Alexander" Ray, 23, and two daughters, Mattie Margaret Ray, 13, and Temple Elizabeth Ray, 10. Randy is also survived by his sister, Tracey Ray Williams of Lacombe, Louisiana, and recently reunited with his birth mother, Laura Engel of San Diego, California. Randy was a favorite with his many nieces and nephews who felt he made holidays more fun with his humorous wit and love of outdoor activities. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Albert Ray and Carol Nixon Ray of Alexandria, Louisiana.

Richard Randall Ray was a 1985 graduate of Holy Savior Menard and a graduate of Louisiana College in 1991. He earned a Masters in clinical psychology from Northwestern State University in 1995, and a jurisprudence from Louisiana State University Law School in 2002. In accordance with Richard's wishes he was cremated.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m.

Richard Ray’s family would like for him to be remembered for his devotion to his three children, his love of adventure, and his jovial nature. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the American Heart Association in Richard's name.
