Richard Louis Salario passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, in Pearl River, Louisiana. Born on August 20, 1958, in Baton Rouge to Blaise and Gwendolyn Salario, Richard lived a life marked by dedication and passion. He earned his bachelor's degree in engineering from Louisiana State University and went on to have a distinguished career, retiring as a senior mechanical engineer. A devoted member of St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church in Slidell, Richard found joy in his faith, his family, and his hobbies. He treasured restoring his 1977 Ford Bronco, engaging in home improvement projects, and most of all, spending cherished moments with his grandchildren. His memory will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Blaise Salario, and brother, Michael Salario.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kelly Salario; mother, Gwen Salario; son, James Salario; sister, Susan Pellegrin; and two grandchildren.
The family would like to give special thanks to Father Jared Rodrigue and the staff at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, Morgan Wegman, Sherry Liles, and the staff at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 910 Cross Gates Blvd in Slidell on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. A visitation will be held at the church, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Hwy In Baton Rouge at 3:00 p.m.
