Robert Paul Nash, DDS

Mar 25, 1941 — Sep 16, 2026

“Release the past memories. Release the barriers to peace.

Gratitude for the joy of living, reflected more fully, in daily life, then experience the whole of life.

Old levels to be released as new visions emerge.”

                                                  - “The Theme of 2026 is Release” by Robert Paul Nash, DDS, March 2026

Robert Paul Nash, DDS, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2026, at the age of 85. He was born on March 25, 1941, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Paul Henry and Helen Marie Hudson Nash.

Robert graduated from Catholic High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 1959. He continued his education at Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.

In 1967, Robert proudly served in the United States Air Force as a Dental Officer. Following his honorable discharge in 1969, he opened his own dental practice in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in which he managed until he moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1987.

In time, Robert returned to Baton Rouge upon his father’s cancer diagnosis. He soon thereafter devoted himself to caring for his parents. His compassionate nature and genuine concern for others extended far beyond his family. Following the passing of his parents, Robert became a dedicated caretaker and friend to many, including Bush Joffrion, resident of St. James Place.

Robert had a creative spirit and expressed himself through poetry. He was also an avid journalist, documenting the wonderful moments and memories he shared with those close to him. His commitment to maintaining a healthy lifestyle was evident in his many journal entries, which chronicled his daily activities.

He was an enthusiastic gardener and antique collector. His green thumb and keen eye for unique treasures brought everyone great joy, as he delighted in sharing the beauty and treasures he discovered with his beloved “Soul Family.” Above all, Robert possessed a deep spiritual faith that guided his life and the way he cared for others.

Robert will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his many friends from the Sunday Morning Breakfast Club, which he attended for more than 25 years. The friendships he formed and the memories he created over their shared meals were an important part of his life.

Robert is survived by his best friends, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Wertz (Nancy), and Ms. Ellen Thrash; his cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Kieth Hellmers (his goddaughter, Carla), Mr. and Mrs. Marc Lorelli (Leslyn), Ms. Christina Hudson, Ms. Michelle Taylor, Ms. Noel VanLoo, Mr. Jason Hudson, and all of their families; his chosen niece, Dale Burnham, whom he held on to see before his passing; and the many other cherished members of his “Soul Family.”

He was preceded in death by his parents.

“Our dear friend Robert Nash decided today was the time for his heaven birthday. His sweet spirit will be missed by all of us and we know he said he was ready. He was a poet, a gardener, a loving friend and companion to many and I am sure was greeted by all of the people he cared for as they moved to heaven”.
