Rodney Achord

Rodney Achord, age 67, a resident of Central, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022.

Rodney attended Walker High School, and graduated in 1973. Rodney married Janet Bordelon Achord on July 14, 1995 at First Baptist Central, Baton Rouge, La. He worked for ISC, Inc. as an electrician. Rodney was a member of First Baptist Church, Central. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle.  He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisher.

Rodney is survived by wife, Janet Achord; son, Jerid Achord and wife Heather; stepdaughters, Sadye Bates, Penny Patterson and husband JoJo; stepson Jason Burgess; brother, J.C. “Buddy” Achord; sisters, Shirley Hicks, Ouida Watts and husband Odis, Mary Norman and husband Gerald; grandchild, Julia Achord; step-grandchildren, Christian Gendron, Paige Patterson, Brendan Patterson, Kali Willis, Madison Holly Bates, Emmalee Bates; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, Percy and Lena Achord; brother, Marshall Achord; sisters, Lois Neal, Ester “Tiny” Murphy, Evenlyn Simoneaux; brother-in-laws, Mike Neal, Jim Hicks, Richard Murphy, sisters-in-law, Odessa Achord and Louise Achord.

Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home on Friday, October 7 from 5pm to 8pm and on Saturday October 8 from 9 am to 11 am with services at 11 am with burial to follow.
