Ronald Batts

December 11, 1950 — June 20, 2021

Ronald "Ron" Eugene Batts, a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on June 20, 2021 at the age of 70 in his home, after a brave battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones. His battle with cancer in recent years showed his courage in facing life's challenges with a smile.  Ron came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.

Ron is survived by his wife, Stephanie, two daughters: Alissa and Katherine and three sons: Casey, Kyle, and Ben. He is also survived by his mother, Aline, his sister Sandy and husband Mark Burton, nephew Mark Burton Jr. and numerous cousins and extended family. He  was preceded in death by his father, Eugene.

Ron was born in Baton Rouge to Eugene and Aline Lockhart Batts. He graduated from Baton Rouge High School and attended Nichols State University. He was a self-employed mortgage broker for over 40 years. He never missed his Saturday morning golf games and was a  super fan of LSU & Saints football. He was known for his quick wit and kind, compassionate spirit.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021 from 11:00 AM until memorial services at 1:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home on Jefferson Highway.

Ron wanted to personally acknowledge and thank Dr. Sobia Ozair and the excellent staff  at Mary Bird Perkins. The family would like to thank the many friends and family who supported him on his journey over the last two years and visited him in his final weeks. In lieu of  flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center or The Hospice of Baton Rouge.

Family and friends may sign the online guestbook or leave a personal note to the family  at www.resthavenbatonrouge.com.
