Rosalie Jones

Rosalie “Sis” Roth Jones was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and matriarch of our family. She was born on August 28, 1926, in Gonzales, Louisiana.

A long time resident of St. Gabriel, Louisiana. Rosalie, also known as “Sis”, transitioned peacefully Sunday, February 28, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was 94 years young. A devout Catholic, Rosalie was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church and Ladies Altar Society. Soft spoken, Rosalie was always a lady. Living a life of service to others and instilling life skills in her children were meaningful to her.

Survivors include her son, Voladia “Val” Jones (Holly), daughter, Gayle J. Mayeux. Also survived by her grandchildren, Mark Keenan Mayeux, Macon Kenneth Mayeux, Rueger Sands Mayeux, who lovingly called her “Mimsey”.

Preceded in death by her loving husband, Voladia “Sonny” Jones and beloved daughter, Susan Ann Jones Losavio. Also preceded in death by her father, Orice Roth, her mother, Aliba Elisar, her brothers, Easton Roth Sr., Pherbert Roth, Alza Roth, Joseph Roth, Acklin Roth, Alcide Roth, Nelson P. Roth Sr., and her sisters, Geneva Webb, Winnie Argrave, Bessie Usey, Agnes Sevier LeBlanc, Maude Boudreaux Webb, and Lillian LeBlanc.

The family would like to thank Dr. John Fraiche, his staff, and team of physicians. Services will be held at Resthaven Funeral home on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM with burial to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
