Roslyn Sims Lockett

Roslyn Sims Lockett, a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Prairieville, LA, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at the age of 73. She was a graduate of Howard University receiving a degree in nursing, where she eventually retired from Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and Pathology Group of LA. She was a parishioner of St. George Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommie N. Sims, Sr. and Pauline L. Sims; brother, Mark A. A. Sims; godchild/niece, Nicole M. Sims.

Roslyn is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, James H. Lockett, III; son, Nicholas A. Lockett and his wife Jazmine; grandchild, Nari Grace Lockett; her brother, Tommie N. Sims, Jr.; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 St. George Drive Baton Rouge, LA 70809, on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m.
