Ruth J. Waller

Ruth J. Waller, born on September 28, 1946, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at the age of 77, surrounded by her loving husband and family. 

Ruth was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Wilfred A. Jumonville and Louise F. Jumonville. She graduated from St. Anthony Catholic High School, and attended Northwestern State University of Louisiana, in Natchitoches, Louisiana and moved on to be in accounting and in charge of payroll for Exxon Mobil in the Petrochemical field. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. She was the former president of West Feliciana Animal Humane Society, and also a member of the Feliciana’s Gardener’s Club. Ruth enjoyed traveling, painting, making jewelry, and bird watching. 

Ruth is survived by her husband of 35 years, Preston Barry Waller; daughters, Emily Arceneaux, Michelle Sonnier (Tim), and Dawn Berry (Brent); son, Don Arceneaux (Annie); sisters, Laura McCracken (Ron) and Kim Misita (Brent); grandchildren, Brayden, Christopher, Cody, Bari, Rylie, Lexi, and Cali; and great-grandchildren, Brianna and Charles. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and one brother. 

Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, beginning at 9:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Pallbearers will include Tim Sonnier, Brent Berry, Brayden Sonnier, Cody Arceneaux, Christopher Arceneaux, and Brent Misita. 

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Lane Regional Medical Center as well as Dr. G. Miletello (oncologist) and his staff.
