Samuel Wayne LaBarge

Samuel Wayne LaBarge, 29, passed away peacefully next to family and friends on Wednesday, July 8th, 2026. Born on August 16th, 1996, in New Iberia, Louisiana, to Brian and Debbie LaBarge, Sam spent his life bringing joy to those around him. He was a bright light that reached the lives of so many. He fought with the strength stronger than all his friends and family that loved him put together. We are blessed to have him as a son, brother and dear friend.

After graduating from Iota High School, Sam enjoyed meeting new people, learning new things about different cultures, traveling, and eventually found meaningful purpose as a physical therapy technician. He was deeply passionate about music and the arts, playing games, saying yes to the next thing and never taking life too seriously. In Baton Rouge, he connected with a volleyball community that supported his athleticism, and of course, his height. Sam was always smiling, singing, laughing, or dancing and had never met a stranger. If you knew him, you loved him.

The Lord has called up a great warrior in Sam. He is dearly missed by his parents, Brian and Debbie LaBarge; brothers, Jared and Brandon LaBarge; along with his sister-in-law, Kayla LeLeux-LaBarge. We are all stronger from knowing him.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18th, from 1:00-4:00 PM, at Franciscan Missionaries of our Lady, located at 4200 Essen Ln, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 70809. A Memorial Service will follow beginning at 4:00 PM.
