Sandy Hebert, a loving mother, talented artist, and devoted animal lover, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 22, 2025, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was born on July 11, 1940, and grew up in St. Joseph, Louisiana, before making her home in Baton Rouge. A proud alumna of Louisiana State University, she dedicated 30 years of her career to the State of Louisiana, where she served as head of purchasing.
Beyond her professional life, Sandy was a gifted artist, creating many beautiful paintings that will be cherished by those who knew her. She had a keen eye for decorating and enjoyed the camaraderie of supper clubs. An active and spirited individual, Sandy was also a proud member of the LSU Golden Girls. Her deep and enduring love for animals was truly unsurpassed.
Sandy was married for 37 years to L.A. Hebert, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved son, Ross Grand, and her sister, Ellie Zernott.
She is survived by her stepchildren, Dawn Beasley, Tab Hebert and Shane Hebert; and her brother, Pat McBride.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a service to celebrate Sandy’s life at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge on Monday, June 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Ascension Animal Hospital in Sandy’s memory.
