We are saddened to announce with heavy hearts that our mother, Sarah D. Gremillion, slipped away from us on Sunday, February 27, 2022 and passed to Heaven at 8:10 PM.
Sarah was very giving of her time and knowledge to family, friends and co-workers. We'll remember her for her fun, sassy and joyful spirit.
She was the greatest mom ever; all she ever wanted to be was a mother and performed that role with excellence. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the center of her universe.
While she denied being 'bossy,' she had a loving 'in-charge' personality and was gifted in swaying opinions including having a street named after her, "Sarah Ave."
She enjoyed vacationing, lunching with her friends, and celebrating with her family, especially during the holidays with Thanksgiving being her day for 48 years.
Sarah was born in Salem, New Jersey on March 20, 1941, eventually settling in Baton Rouge in the early '50's.
Survived by her three sons Rick (Carol), Brent and Kipp (Natasha); grandchildren Blake, Grant, and Emma Claire; great-grandchildren Sara, Camryn, Grace, Reid and Hayden; three sisters, Courtney Curry, Alice Harrison, Dot Garlow and former spouse Richard Gremillion.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents Thomas Jefferson and Dorothy Taylor Davis and long-time partner Daniel 'Dan' Uter.
Sarah was an accomplished Realtor, owning the Jones Creek Company in the '70's and 80's. Later working for C.J Brown/Latter & Blum Realtors and was consistently a top producer for the company right up until her passing.
Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, BR, LA from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. with services immediately following.
