Sean Thomas Bouterie

Sean Thomas Bouterie, born on January 5, 1972, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the age of 54.

Sean was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He graduated from Brother Martin High School. He became a member of the United States Navy from 1993 until 1997, and was stationed in San Diego, California. While there, he earned his Fire/Science Degree. After serving those four years, he decided to re-enlist after 9/11 and served for another six years from 2001 until 2007. Upon his return home from San Diego, he worked as a firefighter at St. George Fire Department, became a personal trainer while owning his own gym, became a co-owner of the Fuel Dock, and eventually became a tax preparer, taking over his father’s business. He always enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family, traveling, and taking the boat and jet ski out on the water.

Sean is survived by his loving wife of 5 years, Renee Mather Bouterie; parents, Robert and Donna Bouterie; grandmother, Gloria J. Davis; sisters, Rache’l Johnson and Allyson Lipari; brother, Ryan Bouterie; and grandchildren, Brody David Brewer and Emily Kathryn Mather.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Rita Millicent and Oral Bouterie; maternal grandfather, Alvin E. Karter, Sr; and uncle, Alvin E. Karter, Jr.

The family would like to give a special thanks to all family and friends for their help, support, and prayers.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Sean’s life on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Resthaven Funeral Home. All will be welcomed at 9:00 AM until services begin at 11:00 AM, officiated by Pastor Louis Boldt, and concluding with Navy Military Honors.
