Shelia Martin

Raised in New York City and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, she died on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at Brookdale University Hospital. She was 58 and a native of Mobile, Ala. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Monday, Nov. 16, from noon until a catholic service conducted by Rev. Sam Maranto at 12:30pm and a Christian burial to follow at 1pm at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by her father, Robert Lee Martin Sr.; brothers, Robert, Alvin and Leroy; sisters-in-law, Denise Valerie and Theresa Martin; nephews and nieces, Chelese, Ayanna, Steve, Kimako, Rondu, Damieon, Donte, Rondu, Tyesha, Robert III, Glen, William, Monique, Ryan and Jaine; numerous relatives; cousins, Bruce and wife Deborah Mack, Theola, Roleene, and others. Preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Martin; brother, Horace Martin; and sister, Bernadine Martin. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and St. George Majella Catholic Church.
