Shirley "Chubby" Montgomery

Shirley “Chubby” Aubin Montgomery went home to Jesus on May 13, 2023 at age 63. 

Shirley was born to Arnold and Josephine Aubin on March 12, 1960 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. As a child, Chubby was a Pantherette for the Woodlawn dance team for all four years of high school.  She also received “Class Wit” and competed in the Woodlawn Beauty Pageant for three years.

Being a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother was Shirley’s priority. Shirley also loved working at Dr. Z’s, socializing with her friends, and praising Jesus at Bethany Church. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. 

Shirley joins her parents, Arnold and Josephine; and her brothers, A.J. and Steve, in Heaven. She is survived by her sisters, JoAnne Doucet, Mary Lou McDonald and Linda Aubin; her children, Michael Montgomery (wife Melissa Montgomery) and Megan Beam Norman; and her grandchildren, Jackson Beam and Nickson Norman, and Max, Mattie, and Millie Montgomery.

Friends are invited to attend Funeral Services at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., Pastor Johnathon Stockstill with Bethany Church will officiate. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. 

Honoring the family as pallbearers will be Robert Bozeman, Mark Gaubert, Chad Doucet, Ricky Klug, Matthew McDonald, Jackson Beam, Parker Bozeman, and Max Montgomery. Honorary Pallbearer, Nickson Norman.
