Sister Guadalupe Rosales, HMSS, a Sister of the Mercedarian Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, 89 years old, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on October 11, 2022. She was born April 7, 1933 in Torreon, Coahuila Mexico. Madre Guadalupe Rosales de la Eucaristia entered the Congregation of the Mercedarian Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament on June 21, 1953. Her father died when she was eight years old, and her mother placed her and her sister in boarding school in order for her mother to be able to go to work. She lived a very happy life with her Religious Sisters (the Mercedarian Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament). When she graduated from grammar school in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, the principal of the school told her mother that she could put her in a boarding school run by the same congregation in Corpus Christi, TX. After Madre Guadalupe graduated from high school, she joined the Sisters in San Antonio, TX where they had the house of formation and she entered the Congregation of the Mercedarian Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament at the age of 19. Sister Guadalupe was an excellent school teacher in the different communities where she was assigned, such as San Antonio, TX, Corpus Christi, TX, San Diego, CA, and Barstow, CA and loved by many of her students.  She served as Regional Superior from 2000-2006. She has been in Baton Rouge, LA since November 2011. Sister Guadalupe was still Regional Superior when the Mercedarian Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament arrived in Baton Rouge, April 2001.
