Sybil Mayer

A retired paralegal and resident of Baton Rouge, she died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at 3:40 p.m. at Ollie Steele Burden Manor from complications of a stroke. She was 77 and a native of Abbeville. Survived by her daughter, Nancy Theresa Mayer; three sons, George Michael Mayer and wife Mickey Mayer, Steven Louis Mayer and wife Ramona Mayer, and David Paul Mayer; two sisters, Audrey Veazey Frederick and Betty Veazey Smith; and four grandchildren, Harmony Mayer, Amanda Fender, Ashley Smith and Abbey Mayer. Preceded in death by her father, Aubrey Veazey; and mother, Aurore Choate Veazey. She loved painting, craft work and all animals, except lizards, and they all loved her, even the lizards.
