Theresa is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 33 years, Charles J. She is survived by her daughter Monica Shattuck and husband Todd; her sons Charles J. Marchiafava, Jr. and wife Krista, Mark Marchiafava, Greg Marchiafava and wife Kim, Damian Marchiafava, Martin Marchiafava and wife Debbie, Phillip Marchiafava and wife Jamie, and Peter Marchiafava; and her sister Phyllis Torres. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family would like to acknowledge the staff at Williamsburg Assisted Living for helping her in her final years. They would also like to thank the team of sitters who cared for Theresa including Keisha Warren, Kathy Lee, Mona Bates, Bridgett Poole, Minnie Patrick and Devosia Guilbeaux. The respect, dignity and loving care they provided to her is immensely appreciated.
Theresa was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis, a charter member of St. Patrick Catholic Church – where she served on their Altar Society, was a Eucharistic Minister, a part of the St. Patrick Choir and served the St. Patrick Prayer line. After retirement, she found her passion in art. Theresa was a member of the Associated Women of the Arts, Louisiana Art and Artists Guild, and a former member of the Art Guild of West Feliciana. She produced many lovely works and received numerous accolades. When she wasn’t drawing or painting, she enjoyed planting flowers and playing Scrabble. Above all this, she loved her family and friends and the many memories made over the years. We will forever love and miss her!
