T. Barry Hingle

T. Barry Hingle, born May 1, 1942, in New Orleans, LA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, surrounded by the family he loved so dearly.

Barry graduated from Istrouma High School as part of the Class of 1960 before proudly serving in the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964 aboard the USS Patrick Henry.

On October 18, 1973, he married the love of his life, Carolyn Ashmore. Together they built a strong and loving family. They raised two children, Tiffany Hingle Moore (Jeremy) and Ty Hingle (Allyson).

Barry retired from Bell South and AT&T after more than 35 years of service. He later worked alongside his son at Mattress Direct, where he spent another 19 years before retiring.

He was a devoted grandfather to Baron (Savannah) and Hayden Hingle, and Brady and Scarlett Moore. He loved spending time with his family, watching boxing, picking pecans, cooking, and making people laugh.

Barry gave his heart to Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of Family Worship Center. His faith, love of family, and servant’s heart were evident throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margerite Gendron Hingle; his father, Kriss Hingle; his brothers, Ronald and Gilmer Hingle; and his sister, Novalyn Uggen.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Carolyn Ashmore Hingle; his children, Tiffany Hingle Moore (Jeremy) and Ty Hingle (Allyson); his grandchildren, Baron (Savannah) and Hayden Hingle, and Brady and Scarlett Moore; his sister, Myra Matherne; and his brother, Walter Hingle.

He was deeply loved by his family and was blessed to have his wife, children, and grandchildren by his side in his final days. His legacy of faith, service, and devotion to family will be remembered always.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, LA 70816, on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
