Tippy Thomassie

February 8, 1979 — May 10, 2024

Tippory (Tippy) Overall Thomassie, 45, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, surrounded by family, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2024, after a long and hard- fought battle with cancer. She was a loving and dedicated mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. She was especially devoted to her son, Blaise, and husband, Ryan, who provided unwavering support every step of the way.

Tippy loved being on the water and enjoyed boating everywhere from False River to the high seas. If the company and accommodations were charming, there weren’t many places she wouldn’t go. To say that Tippy acted with purpose would be an understatement. From Fantasy Football draft parties to New Year celebrations, if there was a gathering, Tippy was ever the gracious hostess. Her decorations were just as important as the outfits, the menu, and the guest list; to the very end, she was a consummate professional when it came to gathering people together. She was also never known to hold back or "tippy toe" the line. For those who were fortunate enough to be in her circle, they knew to either shoot her straight, or don’t shoot at all. To put it plainly, there was no drama with this momma; real honesty and sincerity was the way to her heart, where you would find that the love inside was endless.

Tippy was a graduate of Bishop Sullivan High School and the LSU School of Design. She was an active member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church and School and was presented with the Mother Seton Award in 2021, a testament to her selfless service and commitment to others. Above all, Tippy found her true calling in motherhood. She ambitiously poured her boundless energy and talents into raising her son, Blaise, never missing a moment of his numerous activities and milestones. Tippy was always a dedicated supporter of his team sports, especially when it came to the Catholic High Bears, cheering with unmatched enthusiasm every season, which, she made known, she will continue to do for him throughout his life.

Tippy is survived by her loving family: her husband Ryan, her son, Blaise; her parents, Bobby and Cindy Overall; her siblings Breann (Eddie), Robby (Natalie), and Devon (Kristen); and many adoring nephews, nieces, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Bob & Matt Overall and Bill & Nada Turner. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Stephanie Mayeux for her unwavering support and love during Tippy's challenging journey.
