Vanda Rushing

A resident of Prairieville and a native of Geismar, she died at 2:27 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2011, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice. She was 95. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Sunday, July 10, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home chapel on Monday, July 11, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by Pastor David Davis. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. She is survived by a daughter, Susan Rushing Dencausse a grandson, William Joseph Joey Bloodworth and a greatgranddaughter, Analiese Bloodworth. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Buck Rushing and parents, Edward and Ada Ficklin Carpenter. She was a member of Abiding Hope Fellowship.
