Vera Allen Hodges

Vera Mae Allen Hodges was born in Greensburg, La. on November 4, 1926 and after high school graduation she moved to Baton Rouge, La. and worked for the Louisiana Highway Department. She married Johnny Hodges on December 25, 1947 and they had five children. She passed away on December 22, 2023 at 97 years old. Vera was a beautiful lady who was loved by so many and her husband Johnny absolutely adored her. They were long time members at Broadmoor United Methodist Church. Vera enjoyed playing cards and was a part of several Pokeno groups. Working as a volunteer for Trash and Treasures gave her much joy. Vera is survived by her children, Dennis and wife Yon Hodges, Janet Hodges Pruitt and husband Bill Pruitt, Suzanne Hodges, and Johnny and wife Terrie Hodges; her grandchildren are April Blanchard, Rhett Hodges, Jessica Pruitt Ata, Jonathan Pruitt, Mary Catherine Hodges and John Mark Hodges; and her great grandchildren, Cole Fakouri, Caleb Blanchard, Eleanor Ata and Kei Ata. She’s proceeded in death by an infant son Darryl Allen Hodges; her husband Johnny Hodges and grandson Byron Nicholas Fakouri. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Gardens of Memory on December 27th, 2023 at 1:30 pm, followed by a service at 2:30 pm and then her burial at Resthaven.
