Vernon Yielding

A retiree from Exxon Refinery, resident and native of Baton Rouge, he died 6:40 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, at his home. He was 71 and a Navy veteran who served in the Vietnam War. He is survived by wife Carolyn Yielding mother, Ella Mae Massey two daughters and soninlaw, Angie Y. and John Powell III and Shannon Yielding two sisters, Linda Lemoine and Chris Brown and two granddaughters, Taylor and Morgan Powell. He was preceded in death by his father, Elverd V. Yielding. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church, Acacia Masonic Lodge and he was a Shriner.
