Vidyut "Pat" Parikh

June 18, 1942 — March 30, 2024

Vidyut “Pat” Parikh, 81, of Baton Rouge, passed away on the morning of March 30, 2024.

Vidyut was born on June 18, 1942, in Mumbai, India to the late Navin and Sarla Parikh. He immigrated to the United States in 1961 to attend Ohio State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in 1965.

He was a devoted husband and family man. His family was his biggest love, always ensuring they were his first priority.

He retired in 2013, after a fulfilling 47-year career as an electrical engineer.

Vidyut enjoyed travelling all over the world, attending and watching sporting events, and reading each morning’s Wall Street Journal. He never met a stranger, and his infectious positive outlook lifted those around him. He loved nothing more than being on a dance floor or enjoying a scoop (or two) of ice cream.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Rekha Parikh. He is survived by his daughter; Jigeesha Parikh; son, Parag Parikh; daughter-in-law, Katie Parikh; and three granddaughters who brought him unbelievable joy, Claire Parikh, Charlotte Parikh, and Olivia Parikh.

A private cremation service will be held for family members, followed by a visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home on Friday, April 5, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Our Lady of the Lake Foundation (fmolhs.org), selecting Child Life Services as the Fund Designation.
