Viola Holland Fitzgerald, age 96, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, August 31, 2025. She was born on October 19, 1928, in Simmesport, Louisiana, and was a long-time resident of Boothville, Louisiana. She resided in Denham Springs, Louisiana, since 2005. She was married to Louis A. Fitzgerald for 58 years.

She was a secretary at Assemblies of God Church in Boothville, Louisiana for many years. She was a member of Live Oak Church in Denham Springs and attended bible study and served in the Quilting Ministry.

As a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, her greatest pride and joy was her family. She loved family gatherings and loved cooking for her family and friends. Viola’s life will live on in the memories of her beloved family and will be forever loved and cherished. Her greatest legacy was her love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and her passion for studying the Word of God.

Viola is survived by three daughters and three sons-in law, Janice and husband, Terry Durnin, Joan Fitzgerald Allen, Janelle and husband, Rick Jolly, and son-in-law, Glynn LeBoeuf; grandchildren, Brian Durnin, Jason Durnin and wife, Ashley, Jared LeBoeuf and wife, Jamie, Jenny Latham and husband, Max, Katie Nolan and husband, Chris, Jessica Santos and husband, Aaron, Brad Jolly, Brent Jolly and wife, Ashlyn, Brandon Jolly and wife, Haley; great grandchildren, Carys Durnin, Alex Durnin, Crosby Durnin, Ben LeBoeuf, Jack LeBoeuf, Lauren LeBoeuf, Dylan Nolan, Lorelei Santos, Kennedy Jolly, Hadley Jolly, Vincent Jolly, and Winrey Jolly; and brother, Gerald A. Holland, Sr.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis A. Fitzgerald; parents, John Acie and Daisy Kimble Holland; daughter, Jacqueline Fitzgerald LeBouef; granddaughters, Amy LeBoeuf and Lauren Jolly; sisters, Minnie Deville, Helen Cooper, Velma Gaudet, and Letha Simpson; and brother, John A. Holland, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Live Oak Church, 34890 LA-16 in Denham Springs, Louisiana on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Reverend Mark Crosby will officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Hwy in Baton Rouge. Services performed under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home in Baton Rouge. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Brian Durnin, Jason Durnin, Jared LeBoeuf, Brad Jolly, Brent Jolly and Brandon Jolly.
