Walter Ostteen

Walter Jackson Ostteen, born September 9, 1942, in Columbia, LA, passed away on December 9, 2022 at the age of 80 in Baton Rouge, LA.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Beth Ostteen; the mother of his children, Susan Ellington Ostteen; parents, Walter and Allie Ostteen; sister-in-law, Jean Ostteen; and niece, Sandra McKinny.

Walter is survived by his children, Todd Parker, Jack Ostteen, and Morgan Ostteen Cole; brother, Rev. Ronald Lee Ostteen, Sr.; sister, Joyce Ostteen Hines (husband Willie Hines, Jr.); special friend and caregiver, Jeremy Adams; as well as several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Walter graduated from Columbia High School in 1960. He was drafted by the Army in 1966 and served in Viet Nam from the fall of 1966 until the spring of 1968. He graduated from ULM, Monroe, LA., with a degree in Business Administration after serving in the army. He also owned and operated Ostteen Construction Company in Minden and Covington, LA., for many years.
