Bill Boyd, a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the age of 80. He was born October 2, 1945, in Natchitoches, Louisiana, to Clyde and Marie Boyd. He worked at Gulf States Utility Company for many years before opening Goodwood Hardware & Outdoors with his family. He was dedicated to his family and was always “rooting for the underdog”.
He is preceded in death by his parents and many aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Kay C. Boyd; sister, Betty Wade; son, William “Trent” Boyd and wife, Vickie Ory Boyd; daughter, Tracie B. Comeaux and husband, John C. Comeaux; grandchildren, Katelyn K. Comeaux and partner, Neil Hedden, John David Comeaux and wife, Amanda, Gibson Comeaux; step-grandchildren, Shannon Ory Smith, George “Joey” Ory, and Sir William “Cooper” Boyd; great-grandchildren, Emily Page Comeaux, Hendrix “Henny” Hedden, Bronson J. Smith; The Wilson Family, and past and present employees of Goodwood Hardware.
Join us in “Remembering Bill Boyd” to be held on January 11, 2026, at Goodwood Hardware, 7539 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
