William Crooks, Jr.

William R. Crooks, Jr., 80, of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away peacefully, Saturday, July 3, 2021, surrounded by family.

William is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Ann Pardue Crooks; five children, Bill and Wendy Crooks of Plano, TX, Patrick and Connie Kennedy of Baton Rouge, LA, Bickham and Elke Crooks of Gonzales, LA, Ben and Laura Crooks of Gilbert, SC; Brad and Heather Crooks of McKinney, TX; nineteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren; numerous siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.  He is a beloved husband, father and grandfather.

William was born and raised in Pineville, LA. He attended Menard High School and graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in Architecture. He worked professionally for various engineering firms throughout his career. He was heavily involved in the Boy Scouts of America throughout his life, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout as a youth and then serving as a scoutmaster for his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed numerous hobbies including model railroading, woodworking, beekeeping, winemaking and leatherworking to name a few. He loved spending time teaching and working with his children and grandchildren. He leaves his family with many cherished memories.

He is preceded in death by his parents William Sr. and Myrtle Crooks of Pineville, LA and brother, Frank Crooks of Ville Platte, LA.

Visitation will be held at 9:30 A.M. with a Funeral Mass immediately following at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Baton Rouge, LA. Interment will be held at a later date at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pineville, Louisiana.
