On Thursday, September 22nd, 2022, William “Bill” Francis English, loving husband and father passed away peacefully at the age of 89 in Baton Rouge, LA surrounded by family. Bill was born on July 31, 1933, in Mobile, AL, the son of William C. English and Viola Minnie Soelmon. He had one ½ sister Pearl Fletcher.
Bill was preceded in death by Sarah Taylor English of Mobile AL. Survived by his wife, Pamela Munson English; and their children Kip English (Mark Thomas-long time caregiver), and Allison English Michel (Martin). Stepdaughters Kathryn “Tiki” Ryan McIntyre (William) and Colleen Ryan Perniciaro (Jay). His seven grandchildren include Trevor Michel, Tyler Michel, Hunter Thomas, Austin Thomas, Hannah McIntyre Denny (Otway), Ryan McIntyre, Hattie McIntyre.
Bill had a twinkle in his eye for Pam Munson English after he met her at Broadmoor United Methodist Church of Baton Rouge in a singles group. They were married after a super short courtship for 32 happy years traveling and enjoying life together. Bill and Pam both loved Baton Rouge Little Theater and singing in choir together. Bill’s best advice to his children and grandchildren was to Be Honest, Work Hard, Get an Education & Take Advantage of Breaks! Bill learned to play football with rolled up newspapers. One thing about Bill is that He remembered EVERYTHING!!! Bill never complained, especially about food no matter what he was served! He was truly grateful for everything and always had a smile on his face. After death Bill donated his body to science.
Celebration of his life will be held at a later date, possibly around Thanksgiving. Donations can be made to Broadmoor Methodist Church of Baton Rouge or a charity of your choice.
