Wilsa T. "Woodie" Barrient

Jul 9, 1937 — Jul 29, 2026

St. Amant, Louisiana

Wilsa T. “Woodie” Barrient passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the age of 89. She was born in Logan, Alabama to Cecil Martin Tucker and Ethel Sinyard Tucker. She graduated high school, and later met the love of her life, Wilbert J. “Will” Barrient. They were happily married for 50 years and raised six children together.

Those who knew Woodie will remember her for her tenacious spirit and community involvement. She was an active member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church and often volunteered to be a part of their prayer line. She even volunteered as a Troop Leader for the local Boy Scout troops.

In her spare time, Woodie liked to keep her hands occupied with sewing and tending to her garden. She grew fond of bird watching and would even feed them in her garden. Woodie also liked to keep her mind busy by reading or putting puzzles together. Her sharp mind extended to her love of card games, specifically Rummy. She would always get the last laugh or sweetly apologize for going out on her opponents.

Woodie is survived by her daughter, Connie B. Moore (Joe); her sons, Wayne Barrient (Connie), Frank Barrient (Johanna) and Bart Barrient; her sisters, Carolyn E. Graham (Bobby) and Betty Egan; her grandchildren, Victor S. Moore (Holly), Jason M. Moore, John David Barrient (Lacey), Caleb Barrient, Colin Barrient and Paisley Barrient; and her great-grandchildren, Ethan Moore, Elijah Moore, Evan Moore, Ella Moore, Ezra Moore, Landon Barrient and Riley Barrient.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents; and beloved spouse, Wilbert J. “Will” Barrient; her sons, Joseph Martin Barrient and John Wesley Barrient; her sisters, Mary Schweers, Barbara Harrell, Sandra Donellan; and her brother, Griffin Tucker.

Woodie’s family wishes to extend their gratitude to Debbie Ramirez for always keeping her company and treating Woodie as if she were her own mother.
