Carrol Nathan Miceli

January 12, 1939 ~ May 19, 2022 (age 83)

Carrol Nathan Miceli, known to family and friends as “Frank,” died peacefully at his residence in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at age 83.  Frank was born to Rose Gabrielle Arnaud Miceli and Charles Miceli on January 12, 1939, in New Orleans.  His large Italian-Acadian family included siblings Walter Vincent, Paul, Peter, Jack, Catherine, Mary Lee, J.B., and Charles.  After spending portions of his childhood in Madonna Manor and Hope Haven in Marrero and in Port Barre, Frank served his country in the Air Force, touring western Europe.  Upon returning to New Orleans after his duty ended, he met Carol Yetter Miceli, a Touro Infirmary nursing student, through mutual aunt (by marriage), Josephine Miceli Meserole, over a dinner of osso buco.  Married and settling eventually in Chalmette, Louisiana, the “two Carols/Carrols” raised four children.  Frank forged a career in the burgeoning field of telecommunications, but his true passions were being an exceedingly engaged and active father to his children, a ceaselessly curious amateur historian with a mind like a steel trap, an ever-prepared woodworker extraordinaire, and a tennis coach who never himself had a lesson.  Frank will be missed for his never-ending voice of wisdom and, sometimes, nonsense, non-stop energy and ability to solve any problem.  He is survived by Carol, his wife of nearly 60 years, his children and their spouses and partners, Christopher Nathan Miceli (Catherine Krenkel Miceli), Susan Carole Miceli, Stephen Gregory Miceli (Haeli Daudt Miceli), and Meredith Miceli (Laure Olivia Sweetnam), eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
