William Zachariah Foust

February 19, 1942 ~ May 22, 2022 (age 80)

Obituary

Bill Foust died peacefully in his Prairieville home on May 22, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was 80 years old. Bill was born on February 19, 1942, in Hammond, IN, to parents William Sr. and Viola (Spangenberger) Foust. He was a man of few words, but he made it clear just how much he loved his family and how proud he was of all of them. Bill is survived by his wife Kathi; son Todd, his wife Stephanie, and their children Madison (husband Rafa Amaya), Gabrielle Foust, and Andrew Esposito; son Scott, his wife Kristina, and their children Teghan Lafond, William “Will” and Brooklyn; son Ian Alberes, his wife Monica and their children Jude and Hazel and daughter Alexandra Ballard, her husband Daniel.  He is preceded in death by granddaughter Caroline Esposito.

Bill was a man of many hobbies, and he mastered them all with the same strong work ethic he passed along to his sons. He loved automobiles both old and new, drag racing, model trains, remote controlled cars, boats, golf, fishing, airplane and hot air balloon piloting, scuba diving, and hunting by bow, rifle and black powder. Bill watched a lot of sports, but he was partial to NASCAR. He was a foodie, and he enjoyed discovering unfamiliar restaurants, exceptional wines, the occasional beer, and recently discovered the taste of a great old fashion. He was also an excellent barbecue chef.

Bill’s family remembers him as an amazing giver of gifts. He not only bought the best presents, but he presented them in the most original ways. Bill was a great storyteller, and he loved sharing his life’s experiences with his family. He was charitable and had a tremendous heart. He found pleasure in taking his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews on new adventures. Bill was a real fighter and rarely complained about the myriad of health issues he suffered.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund. A celebration of life will be held at a later date for family and close friends.
