Wilton Ambros Clement – “Coach Clements”: 89, born November 6, 1932 in Napoleonville, La., passed away on July 20, 2022.
He is the son of Fred Maurice Clement & Philode Peltier. Wilton grew up in Baton Rouge, Graduating from Istrouma High School with a full track Scholarship to the University of Houston. Wilton won many track awards in high school and college. He graduated from the University of Houston in 1956 in Education. He served 2 years in the US Army. After his service, he taught Economics & Math at Istrouma Jr 1958-1967. He was a coach & teacher at Glen Oaks High 1967-1972. He went back to college and got his Distributive Education degree, and taught DE at Istrouma High, Baker High & Belaire High School, and retired in 1988. Wilton had many interests, including building things, gardening & traveling. He loved telling his stories about the good ole days, and we loved listening to them.
Wilton is survived by his children, Wilton Mark & Janet Gaar & husband Mike, grandchildren, Cassidy & Dakota crochet, great grandchild, Taytum Olivia – Jane, and his significant other Jean Tillman & her children Bobby & Sharon.
Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. on Monday, July 25, 2022, from 1:30 pm until services at 2:30pm. Entombment will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
